In November 2013, the Distribution Channels Development department at BNP Paribas Fortis was looking for one senior profile and two junior profiles. ORMIT, combining the forces from 2 programs (the Multicompany program for Management Trainees and the Talents@Interim program for more experienced profiles), presented three highly motivated talents: Alexander Stas, Kevin Siborgs and myself.
We were needed to help the department to cope with the multitude of challenging projects they were running to prepare BNP Paribas Fortis’ distribution channels for the future. This was the beginning of a great adventure during which the benefits of a close collaboration between 3 ORMIT musketeers were revealed.
Although we worked in the same department, the three of us were assigned to different tasks and responsibilities. Kevin and I supported two teams of the Distribution Channels Development department, while Alexander, as a Talents@Interim, had responsibilities at a more global level of the department.
The power of the musketeers already started during the intake. On the 18th of November 2013 I went to BNP Paribas Fortis, accompanied by Kevin. As Kevin and I had the opportunity to jointly present ourselves to the customer, we could rely on each other which made me feel at ease. As from that first moment with the customer, we were supporting each other. And so would be the case for the following six months to come. Working together with other ORMIT colleagues provides several advantages. Kevin and Alexander already had experience at BNP Paribas Fortis: they respectively performed one and two assignments there. As a result they could provide me with a lot of background information about the organization, which facilitated my integration.
Another advantage of working together with ORMIT colleagues in the same department is the possibility to ask for feedback & guidance and receive it whenever you need it. As a starter I was glad to listen to the advice and tips from my more senior colleagues. As they already knew the department and the people, their feedback was very useful.
I did not only had a great, challenging project, followed interesting trainings and had a personal coach to guide me, I was also supported and coached by my ORMIT colleagues and I know this has boosted my personal development a lot.
