- PMO Distribution Channels Development at BNP Paribas Fortis
- Lean Business case relocation at MIVB-STIB
I like sitting in the couch under a cosy blanket on a cold winter evening !
I don't like spiders.
In November 2013, the Distribution Channels Development department at BNP Paribas Fortis was looking for one senior profile and two junior profiles. ORMIT, combining the forces from 2 programs (the Multicompany program for Management Trainees and the Talents@Interim program for more experienced profiles), presented three highly motivated talents: Alexander Stas, Kevin Siborgs and myself.

I like having a hot cup of coco on a cosy sheep's pelt when it's cold outside!
My first assignment was at DuPont de Nemours, a global science company. When I got the first information on my project from our sales department, I had no clue what they were talking about.

“Change officer for change management for the Client Competence Centres” was to be my first assignment for ORMIT, at BNP Paribas Fortis. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that one of the first questions at my intake interview went as follows: “what are the most important things in change management?”. Continue reading

- My assignment at Dupont Performance Coatings - 24 July 2013
On the fourth of Decembre I started as Demand Coördinator of the Powder business at Dupont Performance Coatings. As end point within the sales department, it was my task to collect input from regional sales leaders, use the market knowledge to create a valuable demand plan and transfer the right signal to the supply department. On top of that I was responsible to improve the monthly demand cycle to a stable process and create new management reporting tools.Continue reading
Once upon a time, there was a little ORMIT’er called Kristof, who was about to embark on a fabulous journey on the labor market. Little did he know what was in store for him.
After one and a half year of business analysing and diverse projects at the Logistics department of DuPont EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), I’d like to take you on a swift ride throughout the supply chain “jungle”. Pardon my roughness; any resemblance to existing persons is purely coincidental.Continue reading
At the end of June 1999, the teacher of the 6th grade in a local elementary school near Temse spoke to his students: “Today is your last day of elementary school, during the past 6 years me and my colleagues did our best to give you a certain baggage. From next year on you will be heading towards the airport and choose certain directions to get there. By the end of high school you will arrive at the airport and have to choose your destination. Some of you will start flying directly to their first job, others will first take a shuttle to another terminal before they take off. I wish you all the best!”Continue reading
After a challenging time at the VIP, I had the opportunity to start my next assignment at the STIB-MIVB. Coincidentally all my assignments take place in organizations that are in some sort of crisis. The first 6 months of my ORMIT track I spent as a Pricing Analyst at bpost, a company accused and punished of misuse of its monopolistic position. As all operations of the Pricing department had to be halted until further notice, this verdict had a considerable impact on my day to day job. Next I gathered experience at BNP Paribas Fortis, which as a bank evidently was confronted with the global financial crisis but also with a domestic problem. More specifically, as Belgium’s largest retail bank, BNPPF shows the lowest customer satisfaction figures compared to its domestic competitor’s. As a result, most of the banks internal initiatives aimed directly or indirectly at the improvement of this competitive situation.Continue reading
When I graduated in September 2010, I decided to take some time off. In August I had the chance to sign my ORMIT contract so until January it would be a unique time in my life without any responsibilities or obligations towards anyone. I enjoyed my temporary liberty for a while by re-contacting lots of friends, graduating from my CEMS degree, travelling to South India and undergoing a teeth operation.Continue reading
