In November 2013, the Distribution Channels Development department at BNP Paribas Fortis was looking for one senior profile and two junior profiles. ORMIT, combining the forces from 2 programs (the Multicompany program for Management Trainees and the Talents@Interim program for more experienced profiles), presented three highly motivated talents: Alexander Stas, Kevin Siborgs and myself.
Working for ORMIT means that you are working at a partner company most of the time. Because of this you don’t get to see your colleagues on a daily work basis. Therefore ORMIT organizes monthly ORMEETS to give presentations and socialize with colleagues. Always fun to see everybody, but it doesn’t end there! Next to this there are a lot of engaged ORMIT’ers that organize other activities. Last weekend ORMIT participated at the Ekiden run in Brussels. The goal of this run is to finish a relay marathon as fast as possible with 6 people. A battle rose between three different ORMIT teams.
When an applicant is hired at ORMIT, he or she is added to what is called a “pool”. Six people fit into one pool and two consecutive pools will have all the trainings together during their two year trajectory at ORMIT. For example, my pool is pool 22 and during every training, from the “Kick-Off training” up to the “Night of ORMIT”, we will sit together with the trainees of pool 21. The division into pools is a practicality to organize the trainings, but it is much more than that.Continue reading
